The Divorce Centre was founded in 2005 by Mr. John C. Menear HBA, LLB. Mr. Menear is also a founding member of the Canadian Equal Parenting Council, which is dedicated to developing healthy child custody arrangements so that children have the benefit of two parents in their lives.

One of the founding principles of The Divorce Centre is to help families come to fair reasonable solutions without the need for Family Court intervention.

We understand that divorce and separation are very sensitive personal matters. We provide support in a friendly, low stress environment.

Muskoka clients are welcome to drop in without appointment to access the on-site legal resource centre. The on-site resources contain vast amounts of information regarding divorce, legal separation, child custody, property division etc.  We provide an on-site family lawyer to assist you with the division of property and parenting planning.
